TextMail, Smart’s SMS-based e-mail service, sucks.
It automatically adds an ugly signature to your outgoing e-mails. Such a signature is justified only if the e-mail service is free, like in the case of Gmail and Yahoo. TextMail is a paid service–subscribers pay P2.50 for each message sent. Ads in the form of e-mail signature must be removed.
Textmail cannot retrieve or reset lost passwords. You cannot delete your account and just register again because you need the current password. And Smart won’t delete your account. Their CSR said that they do not have the capability to do that. Ano kaya ‘yun?

I tried this service once when I was away in a vacation. Now I tried to register online, it gave me a code to confirm through text. But it replied me back: “Oops! You have already confirmed your TextMail registration”. WTF, I never registered it before. I tried to log in with the password I set, it failed.
Finally, I registered it through phone, then it replied: “Oops! You tried to register for a textmail account, but you already have one.”
I text VIEW to view my account, it’s still in mynumber@mysmart.com.ph and not username@mysmart.com.ph. That feature is really sucky!

Yah, Smart TextMail really sucks. Kainis nga eh! Hindi ko madelete ung account ko. I have two accounts and hindi ko madelete pareho. Walang kwenta noh? Haaaay! Kaasar pa mga CSRs ng Smart.
